Drive Into the Real Dominican Republic
If you really want to experience the Dominican Republic, a Punta Cana Jeep Safari is the way to do it. This full-day, off-road adventure takes you far beyond the resort zone and into the heart of the island—where you’ll visit family-owned farms, roll cigars at a local factory, and share a traditional Dominican lunch on a countryside ranch. You’ll drive your own Jeep between stops, with six unique experiences that combine nature, culture, and adrenaline. It’s more than just a tour, it’s a cultural journey that supports small businesses and gives you a real look at the Dominican Republic you won’t find on typical day trips from Punta Cana.
What you’ll experience along the way:
Did you know that the Dominican Republic is known for producing some of the best cigars in the world?
At this small, family-run factory, you’ll get a real look at how it’s done. They’ll walk you through the process, show you how the tobacco is handled, and even let you try rolling a cigar yourself. It’s not flashy or corporate, it’s just a local business that’s been doing this for years. Afterward, you can check out their small shop with cigars and small gifts, most of which are made right there. It’s a simple but special stop that gives you a feel for real local life.
You’ll head from the cigar factory deeper into the countryside to visit a local home that welcomes travelers as part of a small community tourism effort. It’s a simple place, surrounded by fruit trees and garden space, where you’ll learn about the everyday things people grow and use—like cacao, coffee, and the famous Dominican mamajuana. The family will walk you through how it’s made, let you try what’s in season, and share a glimpse of what rural life really looks like here. It’s informal, personal, and a chance to connect beyond the tourist trail.
We’ve taken it easy for long enough—now it’s time for some adrenaline. At this countryside ranch, you’ll get to do both ziplining and horseback riding, one right after the other. Soar through the treetops on a zipline course, then saddle up for a peaceful ride through rural trails. It’s the perfect mix of adventure and nature, and a great way to experience the Dominican landscape from every angle.
After the action, it’s time to slow down and refuel with a traditional Dominican lunch. You’ll enjoy what’s known locally as La Bandera—a hearty and flavorful meal of rice, beans, meat (usually chicken), and fried plantains, often served with fresh juice and local vegetables. It’s the kind of meal families have been making for generations, and you’ll get to enjoy it with a view right from the ranch

Educational and adventurous!
We had a wonderful time on this tour. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. The guides were wonderful and took care of everything, including our photos for the day. Each stop was worth while, as we explored and learned about local culture. It was the perfect mix of addictions and adventurous. I saw some complaints about the price, but if you want a quality tour it was worth every penny. There were four of us and three guides. We saw another group at one of our stops and there were approximately thirty people. I would definitely recommend this company.

This was truly an unbelievable trip! The best tour guides ever, so kind and spoke English wonderfully which made it easier as well! They made you feel so included and welcomed with every activity that we did! You got to see the culture from a truly different perspective! My only negative was the path in which they took the horses was a little too rocky and it seemed as though it was a little hard on the horses but over all an amazing experience that my family and I would definitely do again! ☺️

We had a wonderful time with Cherry & Louis! The food was amazing and we loved learning about all of the produce that can be grown in the Dominican. We traveled with our 9 month old and they were very helpful and accommodating! My husband really enjoyed the cigar factory!
